How I Spent My Weekend
Saturday morning I drove down to the near west side to install some neon for 2007 Chicago Burning Man Decompression party. A great outdoor/indoor space generously provided by a member of the local BM community was a beehive of activity, set up with with a stage, murals, theme camps, sculptures (both emitting fire and not), a stage, and my some of my curvy blue neon tubes at the middle of all of it, mounted on a utility pole.
Pix are up.
Mary was tired from a hard week at work, so after returning home to don my finest playawear, I headed back to the event solo, and ended up having a really fun time into the wee hours, taking in the sights and chatting with several of the local burners that I have come to know over the years. I have to say that this was our best decompression ever, and I was happy to hear this reinforced by some burners who had just moved here from New York, and said that ours was better than theirs!
