Pancakes! and Playa!

I won't turn this blog into a collection of wacky links -- there are plenty of those out on the internets already -- but every once in a while something tickles me enough to foist it off on you. This is one of those things. Pancakes! is a fun video, but the song produced for it reminds me of the wonderful tune by Jeff Taylor, played by the Freezing Man truck at Burning Man in years past:

Freezing man,
He's got some popsicles in his hand,
He wants to give it away for free,
Two or three,
For you and me...

While I am at it, watch this. Sorry about the cruddy sound.

If you can't tell, I am pining for the playa and frantically making preparations for this year's trip.

Connecticut makes waves.

Cheers to Ned Lamont. Sucks to Joe Lieberman. And who is this bozo, Glenn Beck, on CNN? Tonight was a rare moment of sanity in recent American politics. An inspired primary challenger beat a long-time incumbent out of touch with the desires of his constituents and far too friendly with an unpopular president in the opposing party. In response to this, Beck has nothing but bluster about how the Democratic party has become the tool of the anti-war movement, the anti-war strategy is good for a win in 2006 but is a setup for failure in 2008, and Joe Lieberman is "one of the good guys."

Well excuse me, Mr. Beck, but a "good guy" doesn't betray his own party when it decides that he no longer represents its interests. And if you are going to reveal yourself as a conservative jerkoff, then what makes you qualified to pontificate about what is or isn't a winning strategy for the Democratic party? Tonight I watched your show for about 10 minutes. That was enough...I won't be coming back.

And you, Mr. Lieberman, for years now you have been a Democrat in name only. Now you are not even that. But instead of doing the honorable thing and supporting your party's nominee, you have betrayed your party and revealed your apparent sense of entitlement to your senate seat. Congratulations, Mr. Lieberman. Politicians like you are the reason people hate politicians so much.

Sore loser.
