  • His name is pronounced graham, and can be spelled with the ligature or the digraph .
  • He entered this world at home, weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and measuring 20 inches, head-to-toe.
  • His middle name honors his grandfather, Raymond Albin Koltys.

Early in 2004, Ray Koltys was inspired to create a vaudeville-style act in order to compete in an onstage gong show playing in Chicago at the time. The result of his scheming was Dr. Kilovolt, a character in a neon suit who dramatically spoke about scientifically manipulating thousands of volts of electricity for the entertainment of the audience (technically true), and then proceeded to dance in darkness to a creampuff sixties track while choreographically lighting the tubes on the suit -- a self-illuminating act.

The night Dr. Kilovolt premiered, it didn't win the show, but it got such a great reaction from the audience that Ray was invited back for the Gong Show Championship at the end of the run. Since then, he has performed it numerous times for burlesque and variety shows in several different venues, including Star and Garter Burlesque, Belmont Burleseque, Son of Superfantabulous, Don't Spit the Water, A Demon Who Never Appeared, and Forbidden Planet Cosmic Cabaret, not to mention a brief television appearance on WGN, Channel 9 in Chicago.

Mary Green has never performed with Dr. Kilovolt, but she has accompanied him out and about on occasion in her own, fashionable Mrs. Kilovolt getup, and supports and encourages his sillyness. Together they look forward to young Master Graeme growing up to join the Kilovolt Clan!
