Mr. Blue Sky
Today is the equinox. Spring has sprung! Appropriately, the sun is beaming in a cloudless, blue sky. Of course, this being Chicago, we are expecting several inches of wet, heavy snow tomorrow, just in time for Easter weekend. [sigh].

Fun firsts and not-so-fun ones.
Two weeks ago we were in Kerrville, Texas, enjoying 80 degree weather on a game ranch where our friends Chris and April live. It was Graeme's first time outside in the wind and sun, not bundled against the cold. The drive was arduous, but well worth it. Of course we took pics.
This weekend, however, Graeme has caught his first cold, which was almost inevitable given that both Mary and I already had it. Nursing him through it has not been one of the highlights of parenthood to date, allowing us even less sleep than our usual deprived amount. Sigh.

Sigh...
There are few things in life quite as satisfying as having your child fall asleep with his/her head on your shoulder.

Hmmm.
This is my first test post with an OSX Widget that makes the process far more convenient. Will it make my posting more prolific? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, allow me to note a parental truism: in my observation, when burping a baby, more often than not a belch escapes from the adult before it does from the little one.
